Tasneen studied Audio Visual Production management at Rand Afrikaans University in 2000 before joining Primedia Media Services as a product manager. By 2003, she was a freelance writer for youth publications including Hip Hop Headrush, Y-Mag, Blunt and Hype Magazine, reporting on Urban Youth Culture, and during the same time period managed and promoted various South African hip hop artists.
At the end of 2004, Tasneen joined corporate ranks as a Log Editor at youth channels KTV and Go. During this time she freelanced on the magazine show, Vicious Delicious and also worked on Go continuity links as a Studio Director, Scriptwriter & autocue operator.
In January 2006, she moved to M-Net In House, the internal production division of Electronic Media Network (M-Net) and worked as a Scriptwriter on Selekta and Meltdown, and then later as a Production Coordinator on The Loot (Reality Adventure Show), We’ll Decide (Talk Show), and Dance Africa (reality dance serie). In 2006, she was a production manager on a commerical for the Nokia N93 cellphone and later directed a commercial for mobile operations company, Yo Mobile. By 2009, she had conceptualised and directed five commercials for Broadway Sweets.
Since starting her own company, Tasneen has worked as Studio Director on Go Live, and then as Director, Camera Operator and offline editor on several special interest documentaries including the FHM Lingerie Special, the Seventeen Top Teen Awards, The Seether homecoming tour as well as the Saltwater Girl Experience. Other special interest documentaries included the Diary of James Blunt & Josie Field, the Local is Lekker comedy Tour, Cleo Bachelor of the Year & Triumph Inspiration Awards.
From 2007 to 2010, Tasneen served as Producer and Director, Editor and Scriptwriter on Love PSL, Harambee and Woza Lunch Time, three different football lifestyle shows for sports broadcaster Supersport.
In 2009 Tasneen was selected as a judge for the South African Film and Television Awards and was re-appointed for this position in 2010.
At the tail end of 2009, Tasneen joined the Magic Factory development initiative and was instrumental in creating a reality dating format for Electronic Media Network – Rivals in Romance, and was credited as a Show Creator, Content Producer and Creative Director when the show was broadcast on M-Net Series in early 2011.
